Simple Plan change gears for latest record

The band's newest self-titled effort marks a slight change of direction for the group. Where their previous singles have been fairly upbeat, radio-friendly and have attracted many a teen worldwide, the band has taken a slightly darker turn on their new album. Although they haven't completely abandoned their poppy-punk roots, their lyrics show a more mature and serious outlook on life among other things.
"I think all our records are honest and true to what we've always done," Lefebvre explains. "For our newest record, we wanted to experiment and try bringing a little bit of everything into the musical mix."

"We love catchy, melodic, poppy songs. From day one, that was the trademark of the band," Comeau said. "But it felt to us that our favorite songs were those that had meaning and were emotional.
"When there's a little pain and a little angst, it's more genuine, and that's what came naturally (on the new record), which was to write about our problems or what was going on," he added. "It felt like if you write just about partying, there's a little less substance."

This is an interview with Seb, Pierre and Jeff. It's from when they did 3 shows in one day in the UK. Incase you haven't seen it, I suggest you should because it's great. Also, Pierre seem to have a way of always messing things up when he is in England. This time he is to name a British band he like, but the band he mention is actually from New York and recently he said like "Helloooo Birmingham", when they weren't in Birmingham (they were just outside I think). Anyway... he never mess up usually like that, so it's funny how he does it at least twice in the same country (as long as it's not my country!). As a very extra bonus I added a Simple Plan quote page. It's quotes me and Nadia have collected over the years, there's a few! So if you want to have a laugh, check them out! (the link is in the menu) I will try to update that regularly!
There's still no title to the layout... but I wanted it up today... so I'll fix that later. But incase you would wonder... you are at INVASION CREW SCANDINAVIA ;)

When Simple Plan was in Sweden this year on March 29th P3 Live recorded it and the other week they broadcast it in two parts! You can either go to the page by clicking here or go to Invasioncrew.com to download it, and save it forever because Sandy rocks for ripping it! It was an amazing concert, so if you missed it I really suggest you listen to it. And if you were there I know you're dying to have it!
